Nigerian Harvest Festival
2. 6. 1991
For the first time I’m a little nervous. What’s bothering me? I’ve been here twice already and was warmly welcomed, but it was the most ‘foreign’
experience I’ve had on my journey up till now. Then I see six beautifully-dressed women going into the building with their children and my nervousness
disappears. I cross the courtyard but can’t find the entrance to the second block yet again. Yugoslavian children show me the way and I can already here
drumming and smell incense. Shoes by the door, I open it and - Africa!
A theatre play, then speeches, drumming, dancing and eating. After that I say goodbye.
Confused and impressed I stand on Kaiserstrasse. Across the street is Cafe Aida. I drink a coffee and I’m in Vienna again.
